I finally got around to mailing out my swap package to Tammy last this afternoon. It won't get picked up until tomorrow morning. It should get there sometime next week just a few days late. I am so sorry it will a couple of days late. Please forgive me.

apology note to Joyce...

It's late. I'm so sorry.
Please be gentle with me.
It'll be there soon.
Love, JanKnit

Finally Mailed

Poor Celena! Not only did she put this whole thing together, but she got stuck with me for a swap partner! Well, it may not arrive today, but her package finally hit the mail on Thursday, so I hope it will be there before too long.

Thanks, Celena! Hope you like your yarn!

I got my packet from Susan.

Hi all.

Today I got my packet from Susan, there where two skein with yarn.

The problem with me, is that I love hand dyed yarn so I just store it in my basket and look at it very often :o) They are so great and lovely in colors, need to think what I am going to knit of the skein.

Susan had also send me some sweets from See's, yiah I love it Susan. They are handmade and I have just take one bit, they are so lovely to look at. But taste better, so I am sure that the box soon will be empty.

Thank you again so much Susan, this packet was just great. I hope you get yours soon.

I received a wonderful package from Joyce! The yarn is gorgeous!! I absolutely love the blues and grays. Also included were some lovely goodies...a lavender sachet with some of her fantastic elliebelly graphics, a darling spinning wheel stitch marker, a magnet and a hand-made card. As soon as I finish making my holiday gifts, I'm knitting blue socks for me!! Thank you, Joyce!!

PS...she does great stuff. Go check out her site!!

Five Faves

I followed Celena's five favorite suggestion. You can see the post if you click here.

My yarn is in the dyeing process today. I think I like it, which is pretty good since it usually takes me about 3 dyeing sessions to get the yarn to look how I want it, and even then it doesn't always work. Hopefully this does work as well as I dare hope, and will be dry and in the mail on Monday.

Your Favorite Things ....

I was listening to Christmas music today and one of my favorite songs gave me and idea. Just for fun and to help your pal get to know you a little better ... on your own blog, list five of your favorite things.

I just ordered my yarn! Ack! It's from Knit Picks, and they are usually pretty quick, so here's hoping. The month just got away from me.

I kinda have in mind what I want to do, tho, so that's about 60% of the battle down. The rest is getting it to work!

In the mail

I just got back from the post office, your package is in the mail.

They said it should take about 2 weeks, but I think it will probably be more like 3+, sorry about that :( . But it is on its way!

*crosses fingers for easy passage through customs etc*

Another New Swapper

Hi y'all! I'm new with this swap and excited about doing this! I have the nicest swap partner -- she emailed with all kinds of questions and got me really up for dyeing yarn for her. I can't wait to put her package together!

For those of you who are so inclined, i would love it if you would drop by my blog. I have a small art & yarn dyeing business online, Elliebelly, and I thought it would be cool to raise some money to combat hunger with yarn. I'm going to lottery a few of my skeins every week, with the proceeds going to Heifer.Org to help families in need buy sheep. I know it's sort of kitschy -- yarn=sheep -- but I figure it's something I can do to help so I'm going to. I would love to have you come take a look and help me get the word out!

Shiny Happy Tencel!

Since my partner showed interest in Merino/Tencel sock yarn and I've been curious about it, too, so I ordered some. Quite a bit actually, so if anyone would like to purchase some Ashland Bay Superwash 50%Merino/50%Tencel fingering wt sock yarn at 4oz for $14 including shipping, please contact me, Felicia @ Sweet Pea Fibers

Let's Get Swapping!!!

I sent out partners last night. If you didn't get yours first check your spam or junk mail folder. If you don't find it then let me know and i'll resend it to you. I'm really looking forward to this round of the swap and i'm thinking of adding a few things here or there to keep everyone on their toes. Maybe some things to post on your blog (if you have one) or a contest or two. Let me know if you have any ideas. I'm all ears ... um, or eyes ... you know what I mean. :)

Happy Swapping,
~Celena ... your swap mom

Hey everyone, my name is Felicia and I am so excited about this yarn swap. I just recently started an etsy store, Sweetpeafibers and I just love all the color combinations that everyone comes up with. Look forward to meeting everyone and can't wait to see what comes in the mail from the swap! Thanks Felicia

Sign-Ups Closed & SALE

Sign-ups for round 2 of the hand dyed yarn swap are now closed. I will be sending out assignments this weekend ... a little ahead of schedule. If you have yet to see your invite to the blog, please check your junk/spam mail folder. I have re-sent to a couple of you and the invite has still not been accepted. I'm email you privately this weekend if you are still not signed up.

On another unrelated/off-topic note, i'm having a sale in my Etsy shop, Rocket Yarn, to clear out before posting holiday related items. Free shipping on the purchase of two or more items. If you are a member of this swap and have an online shop, please feel free to post about it here. If you sent me a link in your sign-up info I will be adding a link to your shop in the "buy from a participant" section of this blog. We could all use some free advertising. :) If you are not a member of this swap but you have an Etsy shop or other online fiber related shop, please feel free to post about it in the comments.

Also, there is a pledge to buy handmade for the holidays going around that I thought I would share. I've signed it and plan to make and buy handmade as many of my holiday gifts that I can. Check it out here: Buy Handmade
